I'm a science fiction author and old-school geek, best known for my cyberpunk noir series Lost Time and, to a lesser extent, my science fantasy series Boundless. My dream has always been to become a full-time author, and after releasing eleven books over the past eight years, I’m still trying to figure out how to make that happen.

This, my friend, is where you come in.

About-Image---new-story-1.png

It first came to me as an image of massive sci-fi equipment mining a black hole for blazing specks of unlimited energy—what later became timespace (created when a black hole inverts spacetime, of course).

That scene erupted into an epic about family and duty and what it means to be human when our tools become smarter than we are.

Timespace Empire is a cyberpunk space opera where humanity has colonized the stars and split into two factions: one that accepts the digital humans known as Ekoes, machine intelligences, and plastic humanity of every kind. And one that executes them on sight.

If you’re a fan of the Expanse series, Battlestar Galactica, Firefly, or Dune, I think you’ll be into it.

About-Image---share.png

I’ll be releasing subscriber-only Timespace Empire short stories and novels a chapter or two a week, in both ebook and audio—narrated by yours truly in my former coal-cellar home recording studio.

I’d like you to consider subscribing.

Now hear me out. You’ll get access to the chapters, plus early copies of the novels, plus exclusive shorts, plus posts about my process and the universe’s lore and character profiles and a thanks in the books and other things as I think of them.

The first short is called Collective Ekoes. It’s about the worst day of Lt. Cassandra Cannon’s life: the day she saved her brother from certain death.

Then we’ll start the novel Relative Gravity, where a playboy prince and an exiled soldier clash in the shards of a shattered stellar empire.

I plan on at least a trilogy with shorts in-between, and if we all agree, I’d love to keep going until we get sick of each other.

About Image - why subscribe.png

Excellent question. Because you’ll get:

A new installment from the Timespace Empire Universe every Monday.

Follow along with me into a thrilling new universe, one chapter at a time, in text or audio.

Access to subscriber-only shorts.

Between the novels, I’ll be releasing short stories about galactic events and expanding the characters’ backgrounds. This content will only be available to subscribers (for the foreseeable future.)

Commentary and behind the scenes content.

Each week I’ll provide colour commentary on the release, which might include notes, process tidbits, alternate scenes, or other interesting nonsense.

AI concept images.

I’ve had a lot of fun creating concept images to help me envision the characters and scenes, and I’ll be sharing them with you exclusively here.

Early access to the completed books.

You’ll get the finished ebook or audiobook two weeks before release. After that, I’ll be putting the ebooks into the Kindle Unlimited program, which means the chapters will be removed from Patreon and only available on Amazon. Shorts will remain on Patreon indefinitely.

A brilliant community?

I’ll be around to answer your questions and engage in discussions should any arise.

A warm feeling of generosity.

This one is its own reward.

About-Image---for-me.png

It’s not just the income, though it’s not not that. But there’s more to it.

A sense of responsibility is a great boss.

I do best when I know someone’s counting on me, or I’ve promised something. As long as you keep wanting them I’ll make sure those chapters keep coming.

Community.

Writing can get lonely and I’m hoping some like-minded nerds will drop by.

Or even non-nerds. You’re cool too. Everyone welcome.

It’s a Kindle exclusivity solution.

This gives everyone who wants to a chance to get the ebook before it goes exclusive to Kindle.

And yes, the income.

You’ll be helping me be able to afford to keep focused on what I love doing most.

About-Image---fine-print.png

You need to use Bookfunnel to download ebooks and audiobooks. But don’t worry, the app is easy to use and they have great technical support.

You’ll be paying more than you would if you just waited and bought the novel or audiobook after they’re released. But I’m hoping the extras and ongoing interaction will be worth it. In the end, everything is ephemera. The value lies in the experience, right?

About Image - first taste.png

Go ahead. The first taste is free.

Collective Ekoes and the first Act of Relative Gravity are available to everyone with a free membership.
